Wedding Shoes For Inspiration

Congratulations! The plans for your wedding are underway, and you’re gathering ideas on how to style your wedding. Where do you start? Well, what about using your shoes as inspiration?

Besides your wedding dress, the shoes are an important part of the overall look that you are trying to achieve. After all, you want a style that expresses who you are. That’s why tying in the theme of the wedding with the style of your shoes is a great idea.

Vintage Style

If your shoes have a retro style, you can create a wedding that incorporates details from your favorite era of the past. You could use black and white geometric motifs for Old Hollywood, or vinyl records, pop art, and beehive hair for a 60’s wedding.

Satin or lace are traditional materials used for wedding shoes that can be used for a minimalistic style wedding or an elaborate display where everything is big, bold, and beautiful. Satin and lace could be used from the wedding dress to the invitations and table covers. The nice thing about this theme is that you can find just about anything in satin or lace.

Blinged Out

For some women, the shoes – not the wedding dress – is going to be the center of attention. If the shoes are bedazzled and blinged out, then you could incorporate all kinds of sparkle into the wedding decorations. Go for crystal chandeliers, candles covered in rhinestones, a beautiful tiara, and perhaps a wedding dress with encrusted diamonds.

Casual

Maybe you are having a ceremony on the beach or an informal wedding where casual wedding shoes are more your style, then the theme of your wedding will naturally be something that appeals to your personal taste. You could even ditch the “theme” altogether and go with a hodge podge of details that fit your personality.

However you style your wedding, always remember to just have fun!

Danny Todd – Founding Member of “Like the Record” I was an army brat growing up. When I was about 13, my family and I were stationed in Germany. That’s where I first met a high school senior who lived downstairs. His name was John Door – a professional jazz drummer who would practice every day. And I wanted to play just like him … I wanted it badly! We soon became friends and he began teaching me with theory reading percussion music (which I hated practicing, but knew I had to in order to progress). I soon started on snare drum in the school marching band then moved on to stage band and orchestra. My high school band mates and I formed numerous groups and played at our high school dances every Friday night. Those were the days!
